HCM CITY SPONSORING ASSOCIATION FOR POOR PATIENS

6th Term (2020-2025)

Today, September 11, 2020, at the Ho Chi Minh City Hall, the 6th Meeting of the HCMC Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients was taken place.

During the 5th term, the HCMC Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients, with the “all for one” spirit, has persevered and made efforts to find funding sources and implement the following programs:

+ The program to save children with congenital heart diseases: 1,922 cases. The 7,000th and 8,000th cases were recognized by Guinness Vietnam (out of a total of 8,521 cases since the beginning of the program up to now)

+ Bring Light to Poor Patients: the program helped a total 110,353 patients. Especially, the 500,000th and 600,000th cases are recognized by Guinness Vietnam (out of a total of 624,393 cases since the beginning of the program up to now)

+ Wheelchairs for the disabled and paralyzed children: gave away 5,394 wheelchairs, bringing the total number to 50,866 since the beginning of the program up to now.

+ Women's health care, cancer screening, gynecology: 18,704 cases were examined, 1,509 cases were operated, and 60,000 cases were examined for women in remote areas.

+ Free meal program for poor patients and sick relatives: 15,000 free meals a day.

+ The program of giving free health insurance to poor households: helps pay 30% for 81,962 health insurance plans.

+ Scholarship Program for poor students with disabilities: granted 8,255 scholarships, bringing the total number of scholarships since the beginning of the program to 29,852 scholarships.

In addition to programs to help poor patients, the Association has also helped build 352 bridges, 970 charity houses and donate 2,762 bicycles to students and people in remote and isolated areas; donated 841 water tanks, 845 water purifiers and 152 drinking water stations for remote locations.

In the next term, the Association will continue with the initial principles and act as a bridge between individuals, organizations and doctors to help poor patients.

Also on the meeting day, the sponsors (Novaland, Vinamilk, etc.) contributed VND 5.1 billion to the Association.
